I am alone on my bed: the world
is somewhere outside, but I’m not part of it – don’t want to be part of it in any sense. That’s my condition, without contrition – that’s my life. But then I think: the branch cannot be alive unless attached to the tree. I dread that world and every bit of it, yet maybe some are good and kind: that really would improve my mind. I lie on my bed, but am not alone, the world is here and I am part of it in every sense. It has to be: it is our human condition. |

Funny, I have been having those exact same thoughts lately. Being alive but not really a part of anything out there. I did make a call yesterday to the local Humane society and asked about volunteering. They said they NEED people to come in and Socialize with the animals. I can handle that. I suspect I will be falling in Love a whole lot on the near future. Maybe even acquire a new pet or two. I can't think of anything else right now that would make me happier. I looked at their website today and saw a couple Possible Victims. A little tabby female named Gabby. They said she likes to "talk". I wonder if she'll try to "Chat me up".
Uh Oh, looks like Gabby is gone but look at this little fella I Love little baby cats. They are SO Loving and sweet. |

great expressive poem.
I kinda think a branch can be alive even if its not connected to the tree sometime a branch lands in the dirt and grows . I landed in the dirt and I grew. far away from the tree I broke off and fell from. nice to meet a new fellow poet and glad you here John. Hope to read some more of your work soon. PEACE BMW |
