I suggest wearing gloves when working with Aluminum.
I've read of some connections to Alzheimers and possible other connections. sandy - it's whatever thickness the offset printers use. I just use their "used" sheets -the ones they normally recycle.

I've given up making aluminum flowers. Instead I work with sheets of copper & brass to make flowers. It's pretty much the same set of skills. But with copper you don't have to paint - and I did learn to solder to hold the pieces together.
