Confused I have a problem...Blood loss issues, can I still get my tooth extracted?

Hey Bryanna? What do you think? Should I reschedule my extraction that is set for the 1st becaue I have been bleeding from the uterus for over a month, was down to an 11 on the anemia scale last tuesday, will see what I am as of yesterday later today. If I am a 9 I would guess I need to put it off then right? It's been just awful for me, I think I am gonna have to have a hysterectomy, but I am more concered about what to do about this tooth that broke off two months ago.

It's NOT infected yet, but I am sure it would be October before they could fit me in again. What should I do? I am at this point STILL bleeding and it's barely a week away now, Iam drinking a lot of fluids and taking a multi-vitamin with iron, which the ER doc said to do when I went in last tuesday. But I have been having this problem non stop for about a month...

Sorry if this grosses anyone out, I need to know what to do about it though and trust Bryanna's opinion, too afraid to call the oral surgeon and ask because they might cancel the appt right away and reschedule, I need to know what you think about this situation Bryanna, thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi Pamster,

Do you generally bleed alot after an extraction? If not, then there is no reason to think that you would bleed excessively this time. I would keep the dental appt for the 1st and see how you are between now and then. Many women are anemic with blood counts as low as yours. Although it is common, it is a health problem that should be remedied.

One thing that helps iron to absorb better is Vitamin C. They work synergistically when taken at the same time. A form of iron that is more easily absorbed is called Ferrochel. Here is a link to demonstrate it's effectiveness verses other sources of iron.

You can buy Ferrochel is some drug stores or a health food store. It also does not cause constipation which can be a nasty side effect of iron supplementation.

As long as you are bleeding, your iron count will not increase to a normal range irrelevant of how much iron you are taking. So it is wise to take a type of iron that is easily absorbable along with vitamin C to get the most you possibly can.

FYI........ before you decide to have a hysterectomy..... do some research on hormonal imbalances and how this can cause uterine problems leading to excessive blood loss. I have had great success with using Bio Identical Progesterone for the last 10 years. Bio Identical is NOT the same as synthetic hormones like premarin. They are specifically made for the individual person based on their particular needs and they have the same molecular structure as what our body would produce under normal circumstances.
Here is a website that offers some good info....... explore it and perhaps you will find some help .....you can even email the pharmacist with a question....
http://www.power-surge.com/transcripts/paulhueseman.htm

Another good site is www.zrtlab.com. This is where you can order saliva test kits to check your hormones. I've been using them for many years.

Another one.......
http://www.womentowomen.com/bioident...lhormones.aspx

Lots of information out there.......unless there is cancer, hysterectomies are not always the cure all as we have been lead to believe. ZRT labs has a physician list that may be helpful to you in case your dr is pushing the surgery.

I feel bad that you are dealing with so much at one time. Hang in there, focus on getting well and your thoughts will lead you in the right direction.

Let me know how you're doing ~'.'~

Hey Pamster,

What did you decide to do? Did you go to the dentist? How are you feeling?
