Default Dentures and a Call Center Career....

So, I'm sure you've read my posts logging my journey. well, today was my 1st day back to work. I work in a call center enviroment for a huge company country wide and that means back to back calls, no breathing room in between, 10 hour shifts, 4 days in a row with only 2 fifteen min. breaks and one 30 min lunch break and NO private bathrooms....

My dentures are in their 2nd month, so that means they are not fitted due to major shrinkage in my gums, weekly adjustments and ADHESIVE NEEDED!

I got to work, sweating bullets and full of anxiety, I sat with another co-worker to go over new items for about 5 hours, the next 5 where spent on the phone....put my dentures in at 8:30 a.m. with a 'little' less adhesive than I have been using, by 7 p.m., I could feel they where getting a little loose, keep in mind I didn't eat ANYTHING all day because I was too nervous, but made it home with out any problems, I was not uncomfortable but more nervous of any 'mishap' of having to reapply the adhesive.

The Secure Denture Adhesive certainly lasted and I will refrain from reapplying until the a.m.

IF YOU work in this type of enviroment and are getting dentures, but sure to arrange to have about a month to get aquainted with your new friends and use to talking for long spells....I tried going back after 2 weeks and THAT was a nightmare and I ended up leaving about 2 hours later....so give yourself some time....

Remember this is a LIFE ADJUSTMENT! BUT everyone is different, we all deal differently....I am just looking forward to the hard align and HOPE to GOD that I won't have to do for days withOUT my new friends, cuz if that is the case, i will have to go to a hotel, cuz i REFUSE to let the hubby see me without them....LOL...oh, to be that vain at my age huh? LOL...

Well, it has been a journey, but a learning one.

And if I may add, I have also had time to rethink my career path and am taking online courses to become a Certified Medical Assistant....YEAH.....

Smile and pass it along!
