Thanks for explaining this to me. I don't think I could EVER sit through this procedure. I can only imagine the sounds I would hear as the dentist is doing his thing.

The sound of most dental procedures involving a drill or rotary instrument is always different in the patients head than it is to someone observing it. The sound is less high pitched and more of a vibration when it's in your own head. Usually, if the patient is profoundly numb from the anesthetic, the sounds they hear are not bothersome. Have no idea why that is..... but it is!
