Confused Extraction Pain

I had just got two extractions on Thursday, and it is now Saturday.
I'm in SO MUCH PAIN, and it's to the point where I woke up in the middle of the night last night and couldn't go back to sleep because I was in SO much pain, and I'm just wanting to know if there is anything I can do to take the pain away? Because I had bought Orajel earlier today and it takes some of the pain away, but its still throbbing in that one spot.

Hi Victoria,

It is not unusual to have pain for a few days after a tooth extraction. If the pain increases after the 4th day then you need to see your dentist because you may have a dry socket. This is an actual infection in the jawbone that occurs when the surgical site is either overwhelmed with bacteria or the blood clot falls out. This condition requires another visit to your dentist for treatment.

Just so you know.... it is not a good idea to put orajel on the extraction site because it can irritate the surgerized tissue and cause more pain. It can also interrupt the healing because it can interfere with the blood clot. So never put anything on the extraction site unless your dentist tells you to.

It's been 5 days since your extractions... how are you feeling now?
