Default New Here - Full Mouth Restoration

Hi everybody,

I'm new here. So glad I found this forum! I'm in the process of getting a full mouth restoration and I sure could use some support.

A bit about myself. I suffer from debilitating panic attacks and emetophobia (severe fear of vomiting) as a result of Post-Traumatic Stress. This makes every dental appointment, no matter how minor, HELL. That is not an exaggeration. I have been blogging about it, every step of the way.

Anyway, I have been in desperate need of a full mouth restoration for some time and finally am able to have it done... except all my issues, as I said, have been making it ridiculously difficult.

I finally got through all the pre-op prep appointments (were supposed to take a couple of weeks - took several months) and so now the next step is the actual dental surgery which will consist of: extracting all remaining teeth, including one that never erupted and is in my gum at the front of my mouth (roof), followed by immediate placement of both upper and lower all-on-four dental implants (permanent arches).

On the one hand I am SO excited that FINALLY I will be able to smile again!

On the other hand, the PTSD is still there, and I am heavily triggered by EVERYTHING that happens at the dentist. So, I'm absolutely terrified... especially of the recovery process after surgery.

Anyway, that's my story in a nutshell and why I'm here.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Hey I'm going to a consultation and I may have to get all my teeth extracted and pins/dentures put in too. I'm very terrified, but I am also very tired of having to go in and get work done on my teeth every month or so and being in constant discomfort. If you could post updates on your experience I would greatly appreciate it. Good luck

Actually, I have been blogging about my experience, step-by-step, here http: //chrysalisdentalimplantspatient.blogspot. com I have already had the work done and I am now in the process of getting through the post-op appointments, which I will also be blogging about soon.
