Frown im confused

I had a denture relign at a dds office 7 months ago after a few days i called him and told him i was in severe pain ,after seeing him he said my gums where different and had ulcers and asked me about denture cleaner,i have suffrered severe agony afterwards with severe pain and inflamation in my sides of gums and palette, plus bottom of top gums,of course when i have gone for help all i hear is i dont see anything,i dont understand ,afterwhile i have felt down, and have nhot worked from the pain,i dont understand,i feel like i have had a reaction or chemical toxicity, but all i hear is nueralgia,i beleive in my heart it is a severe denture reaction ,chemical,or a infection.

The pain travels and the inflamation,i also feel some sensations nin my cheek now, went to nuero and said tn,and put me on tegratal,i have not touched the medicine, nor do i intend to.i also have been scared if different imbucments that where put in and a newer implant.I feel there is a toxic problem,or a bad reaction to denture, whyich irritated nerves, but as oral surgeons and dds told me i dont see anything.I wake up in am and sometimes cry wanting it to go away,i am also nervous about my body feeling different after suffering,My insurance was over dec 31 ,and i really cant afford anymore

Hi markymark,

It is not unusual for a person to be sensitive or allergic to the denture reline material used in the dental office. The symptoms you have described with regard to the ulcerations on your palate and gums, pain, inflammation... etc. are typical of what occurs when someone is having a negative reaction to the material. If that is the case, then the more you wear it, the worse the symptoms will become. However, please answer a few questions if you can...

Did ALL of your pain and inflammation begin after the reline of the denture?

Did you have any unusual symptoms that were concerning you prior to the reline of the denture?

You mentioned an implant.... how many implants do you have? Are they made of titanium or zirconium? Have any of them failed and been replaced? If so, what caused them to fail?

Bryanna
