Default Dental and thyroid cancer

In January I had radioactive iodine and then I couldn't taste salt for a while. Now I have a back molar which often tastes salty and/or metallic. This is one that has a porcelain crown with some sort of metal helping bond it to the tooth. Now I also have a lump in my cheek. It is on the opposide side from where I taste salt. The dentist has cleaned and done x-rays but can't find much wrong except a slightly more prolonged sense of cold in that tooth. I have a full body scan on Friday to check for metastasis. Any ideas? Please don't say the R word. I don't want one.
