Hi Kris,

It is normal for the surgical site to be sensitive to the pressure of eating on it, even a banana. So I would suggest that you avoid eating on that side until the wound has closed completely. Just for comparison..... if it were an open wound on your hand, you wouldn't touch it right..... same thing in the mouth ;-)

I totally understand your anxiety about this extraction and your concern about trusting your dentist....my advice to you is listen to your own words...<< It has been 4 weeks today and IS getting much better....not sore all the time -- maybe once/twice a day.>>

Sounds to me like you are healing well!

Once final concern: When I eat -- something as simple as a banana and it gets over to the extraction site, it bothers me. It is better after the salt water rinse but can this be a sign of infection or is this simply just raw skin that needs to "toughen" up in that hole OR until that hole closes up? I am so scared of an infection that this is consuming me! It has been 4 weeks today and IS getting much better....not sore all the time -- maybe once/twice a day.
Thanks~

Kris

Thanks Bryanna and Ginnie.......I appreciate the words and kindness. This has been a tough go but it is a wound and I need to realize a wisdom tooth is a bigger tooth and needs time to heal. Thanks again!!!
