But...that being said, I am having pressure in my left ear, same side as extraction site and this ordeal had been horrible. Anyway, my site started healing better once I got off of the Lorazepam. I understand you can't. I loved the stuff but hate it at the same time. I know you know what I mean. How is the site today? Is there still a big hole? Mine is better -- not perfect. I think the clenching and/or grinding we do is NOT helping either one of us! Please let me know how you are!!
Kris,

I am glad to hear your site is healing better. I know how it feels to be left with something that just is not healing the way as expected. As far as my site, it is still the same. I do not know that it will heal anymore than what it has. It has been 2 months for me with the site looking exactly the same with no further improvement. What really boggles me is the fact that I have days with no pain or annoyance with the site at all (like today is good) but then other days like yesterday my entire side from my canine tooth back to the site was so itchy I wanted to scratch my gums out. I almost give up on trying to figure out what is going on, but I do know I had no problems with my teeth or gums ever before this extraction.

Ana,

I have the same thing! Some days, I feel fine and others.....my teeth on the upper, that same side, feel achy or odd or something. Now, my dentist thinks I am clenching and grinding. Maybe that is what we are doing? Also, does your bite feel "off"? If it does, maybe you are clenching and grinding AND have this off bite and this just adds insult to injury. I am thinking of seeing a TMJ specialist. I dont know what else to do. I have no patience. I never had issues like this before this tooth was extracted! What a MISTAKE that was. I really believe it. Mine may be healing a bit faster but it is still pretty pink and not completely filled in yet. Seems odd we both have anxiety and have this. My husband thinks I am obsessing on this area so that is why I "feel" this oddness. Ummmmm....I dont think so. I know what I feel!! As for yours itching, maybe the nerves are healing? I really dont know. This stinks!!

Default Bryanna can I ask a question?

I have been having problems with my gum tissue (no disease, healthy gums checked by two periodomtists) since I had an extraction of tooth 3 last February.
After the tooth was pulled I started having a feeling that toth 4 was popping and then like I had something stuck in the gum tissue between 4 and 5. After several dentist and oral surgeon visits, resulting in redone fillings and a bridge that ruined tooth 4 and 2, the bridge was removed due to no retention and root canals and crowns were done to tooth 2 and 4. The pain by then was unbearable and I begged oral surgeon to pull tooth 4. BIG MiSTAKE! The pain stayed in the gum tissue, not pain that needed pain medicine, just an aggravating feeling constantly, oh and I had dry socket to top it all off. Seen Neurologist had MRI and CT all clear no trigeminal nueralgia, even said it all dental related.
was placed on gabapentin anyway for 3 months, did nothing. Then placed on Nortriptyline for a month or so , hair started falling out. Ended up seeing an orafacial pain specialist at Case Western and he said it is being caused from referred pain from TMJ! I had trigger points in my face that when he pushed did not make the feeling stronger, but helped to subside it. Now after wearing night guard and taking a muscle relaxer at bedtime, I am starting to see some. Improvement. He also gave me a compound to put on gums directly 3 times a day with an antiimflammatory and lidocaine and small amount of amitriptyline.
Not sure if the medicine is helping, but what I am noticing now is as the gum tissue is filling all the way up, which it has not reached the top yet after 4 and 1/2 months, the feeling is getter easier to tolerate. Tooth 5 however sort of feels hollow at times when tongue rubs it. Finally the question, have you ever heard of anyone else having this happen from TMJ? And ultimately , I need teeth. I had a 2 tooth Nesbit done but it hurts the gum tissue, so do you ink that I could ever be a candidate for mini dental implants since they are less invasive? Any info or knowledge on many part of this would be greatly appreciated. I read your posts and always find them knowledgeable and caring. Thanks for your time!
