Default oral surgery

Hello, I just need some info on an infected tooth that is broken all the way to the gum line and is in the nasal cavity. I'm told I need an oral surgeon and very concerned with this matter. I'd like to try and find out what the process is for a matter such as this. The frightening thing for me is the pain and the fact I can't take anything for it being I'm a recovering addict. I do need it out though! Someone please help. Thanks

Hi stephie,

I can understand your concerns.... pain, addiction, etc. However, the number one issue at this time is the infected tooth because the infection can spread further into the head, even into the brain which will only complicate everything. So having the tooth removed is a definite priority.

Oral surgeons are very familiar with working on patients who are or have been addicted to drugs. It is important to be completely honest with him about your situation so he can treat you properly.

Please do not put this off... the sooner you have it removed, the better you will feel as it will be one less thing for you to worry about. I wish you all the best with your sobriety.

You will be okay...
