hello my name is robert, in new here seeking help becase the military took all but 10 teeth away 3 years ago. it took 3 yearsto get partials, and denided me inplantd because they filed down my jaw bones so far. the new doctor i have on post now made sure he can get me to smile again and pretty much eat properly again. i just recieved them yesterday. abd the dentist is closed tell tuesday the 4th. what can help ease the pain im in when i even so much bite a marshmellow. my mother reconmends a dental wax to help fill in wee the partials sit. i went and got some seabond because they seemed kinda wobbly persay.

It is common for the partial dentures to need several adjustments to help them fit better. I know you are anxious to wear them, but it is not wise to keep them in when they hurt so bad. Because you cannot see your dentist until tuesday, it is best to leave them out until then. If you leave the partials in without being adjusted, you will get very bad sores that will take a long time to heal which means you would have to leave the partials out anyway.

Sorry you have had a difficult time with your teeth.... sounds like your teeth were not in such great shape when you entered the military. If you have a lot of bone loss from teeth that were removed only 3 years ago, that indicates that the teeth were already badly decayed or broken down. When that occurs, your replacement options will be limited. Hopefully your new dentist will work with you on getting these partials comfortable. It may take some time......

yeah i tryed eating a triskit yesterdat to give then a shot and omg it hurt so bad, but it was an accual front tooth that hurt the most. i got some seabind for temo fix tell then and my wife is getting that wax stuff to kind of ease the pain tell tuesday, but my concern is iidk if they can be adjusted cause they are infact a plastic thats bendable

It is best to leave the the partials out if they are causing that much pain. Sometimes when the partial is too tight next to a tooth, that tooth will hurt and eventually the nerve in that tooth will become inflamed. That could result in the nerve of that tooth dying. So it is not a good idea to wear the partials if they are hurting you. Lining the partial with a cushion such as seabond may give you temporary relief but be mindful of any constant irritation or pain as then it is best to take the partial out until you can have it adjusted.

So long as the partial is not made of a valplast material, it can be adjusted.
