Frown Banged teeth!

I had a very energetic hug from my youngest 2 days ago which resulted in me biting my teeth together suddenly and with a lot of force. One tooth is my canal rooted tooth and the one next to it has a filling-both teeth are slightly wobbly now and I am in considerable pain and have a constant throbbing in that area. Pain killers just arnt working, can anybody please advise what the problem might be? The dentist has fingers crossed for just bruising!

Hi Robi,

Did your dentist take xrays of that area? Also a panoramic xray would be most helpful to see the entire area.

You could have bruising in the bone. But chances are the root canaled tooth is fractured because the tooth is very brittle to begin with due to the lack of vitality. Also since the bacteria from that tooth has been moving into the bone from the time you had the root canal procedure... the surrounding bone is compromised also. You could have a fracture in one or both teeth.

I hope it's just bruised, but xrays will help tell the story.

Bryanna
