Confused Help! Wisdom Tooth Extraction Pain

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out...

On March 18 I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed (they hadn't come up through the gums yet). I had a lot of pain and swelling while I was healing, specifically between the 3rd and 5th day. Another problem I've been having is that my entire right side of my tongue is completely numb (aside from tingling and pins and needles feeling) along with the right side of my gum line. It has now begun to feel as though I've severely burned my tongue.

I've had a constant pinching feeling on both of my bottom sites since I had them removed. Today is now day 11. This morning I woke up with a swollen lump on the lower left side of my chin, along my jawbone. I called my OS last Monday and he told me to call again next Monday (the 1st of April) if the numbness persists so that I can schedule a visit.

So my questions are, has anyone else experienced this strange prolonged numbness/burning feeling in the tongue/gumline (on one side of the mouth), does it go away, and does it sound like I have either a dry socket or infection? I am still a little bit swollen and I have yet to be able to open my mouth completely (couldn't fit a lindt chocolate in my mouth). Also, it looks like my extraction sites have healed over already, hard to tell, but is this possible for them to heal over an infection?

Thanks so much!

Kelsey
