yes Bryanna I could actually feel my body weakened by the antibiotics since I had to take so many (two rounds). I can't imagine what would happen if I didn't take the probiotics I would probably be even worse off. I would think that doctors/ dentists should always recommend a probiotic to patients every time they go antibiotics for good measure. I was more worried about stomach problems which luckily did not happen but still managed to pick up a virus. I am still on the probiotics but am finally feeling better. I pla to stay on them for about a month more. I usually eat a lot of yogurt which keeps my system in check and I don't find the need to take the pills.

That's why it is best to allow our immune system to fight infections that do not require antibiotics. But when you have a bacterial infection especially involving the bone, it is usually best to take the antibiotic. Are you still taking the probiotic? It would be ideal to continue that. FYI..... I take mine daily and have done so for many years.

I sure hope you feel better soon!

Hi Marge,

I agree with you, if it weren't for supplementing with the probiotic you may have ended up with a nasty intestinal problem. It's best to stay on the supplement for as long as you can.

Frequently Biological dentists and Integrative physicians do recommend supplementing with a probiotic to their patients in general, not just those on antibiotics. Conventional practitioners generally do not.

The purest yogurt is home made from Kefir with no added sugar. Unfortunately, all commercial yogurt products are processed to the max and they are also subjected to various temperature changes. Both of which destroy the bacteria. So by the time you purchase the yogurt, the bacteria is barely vital.

Just another example of a commercial food source that is not as reliable as they are marketed to be :/ l

Glad to hear you are doing better

Have a nice weekend!
Bryanna
