The procedure itself was a non-issue for me. I just had a local anesthetic, but I have a relatively high pain threshold... The graft throbbed a bit worst than the extraction but I did not need any NSAID's and it was gone the next morning. Time will tell how well the graft integrates, but I'm optimistic. I will report back as time progresses. Overall, my take away thus far would be:

1. Avoid root canals at all costs. 2. If there is infection and a tooth needs to be removed find an excellent oral surgeon.
