Default braces or root canal , or leave it as is

I am now totally loving all this dental work , a complete 180 from where I was at , anyway , my #10 Lateral Incisor has a twist and it is something that has always bugged me to no end but the bad thing is it is twisted a little to much to the point my Doc cant tweek it , so I have just a few options , #1 I can leave it as is ,, but it is bugging me to no end now , #2 I can get braces to straighten it and then have it tweeked , but that's a years wait and around 2000 dollars #3 option is a crown , but it has to have a root canal ,, I am not afraid of doing a root canal but what does scare me are all the horror stories and issues that crop up after a root canal ,,, and I told this to my Doc , I told him the root canal does not scare me , it's the major problems after , and what I found amazing was he did not argue that fact and try to sway me to a root canal , so my question is , what would you all do , besides I am 60 years old , but I feel I have a few good years left and it would be nice to have a killer smile even if it is for a short time , anyway , opinions please , Thanks !!
