Default All my teeth are throbbing and hurt at once- intense pain!

I am starting to lose my mind with all the problems I am having. Last year I had a sudden toothache with 4 of my teeth overnight. The wisdom tooth got pulled..pain still there..so 2 onlays on molars and a big filling. The pain never really left..they forgot a root in (4th) and it abscessed 6 weeks ago so I needed a retreat and a new root canal on the onlayed tooth. I finished my treatment and everything should be peachy BUT for the last few days all my teeth started hurting like hell. The regular dentist saw nothing and put extra sealer to protect the sensitive teeth but it feels worse now. There is a intense throbbing on the this side ( almost feels like a pressure building under the tooth) I have have 4 veneers on my front teeth and even they are throbbing like crazy too. It feels like about 10 of my teeth are on fire and throbbing with pain...ironically the two root canals which hurt a week ago feel awesome now..those are practically the only two teeth that don't hurt. My root canal specialist mentioned there may be damage to the main nerve and I have been reading about trigal myalgia. I know and teeth are off and have some TMJ symptoms too. In sum, I am an aboslute mess. I run from dentist to specialist to doctor and I feel like I am being passed around and being looked at like I am a nut. People cannot seem to believe everthing can hurt at once. I have no idea what I am dealing with...is it 10 root canals I need...is this a nerve thing? So far I am just on advil which is completely useless. I just try to sleep all day to escape the pain. Best part is I have a vacation booked to Hawaii in 11 days and all hell broke lose a few days ago. I deal with migranes from time to time and am starting to wonder if this is all connected. Is this dental or medical or both? What drugs can you take to help with this? Allergic to codeine so I always get the crappy advil solution which does nothing. Sorry, I am ranting but it starts to make you crazy when the specialists don't know what to do with you. The pain feels at least a 9 out of 10 right now and I have gotten good at putting up with a lot of pain. I have an appointment with the root canal specialist in the morning and I know I HAVE to push for more investigation and some drugs that let me function. Its soo extremely frusterating..I don't know what to do at this point and am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience...thanks so much

See your doctor. There are medications out there specifically for nerve pain. Whether you have determined the source or not, you need to address the pain.

Tegretol, Neurontin, Gabapentin to name a couple.

You should have an MRI done as well.

I am not a specialist but some of my situation is similar to yours.

I was diagnosed with TN eight years ago after four months of torturous pain, many pain meds and many trips to the dentist and doctor. I was eventually prescribed Amitriptyline and the pain went away and never came back.

This spring I started experiencing excruciating pain a lower left molar. This pain would radiate across that entire side of my mouth, top and bottom. I have been on three rounds of antibiotics and pain pills did virtually nothing. T3's helped a bit just because they knocked me out. Anyways, I had a deep filling in one of those teeth and the dentist determined that I needed a root canal. The tooth does hurt less. But the pain has settled in my jaw and cheek and radiates onto the teeth.

Because I have a history of TN I am very confused. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow. To add to the confusion I am reading that many people are against root canals because they can leave lasting infections and cause nerve damage.

Good luck and let me know if you get some answers
