Default Multiple Root Canals and 2 Extractions. Pain Remains.

Around 8 years ago I had a dental root canal performed on my UL1 due to a trauma from biting down on a sandwich. This was carried out due to recommendation by my dentist.

After the operation the pain seemed to go away. But around a year later the UL1 began to hurt again. So I went back to my dentist.

It turned out that an infection had formed in and around the tooth, though I did not know how long it was present. I was prescribed anti biotics to clear the infection. After the infection had gone I had the UL1 retreated to clean away any residual infection that was inside the tooth.

After the tooth had settled, the pain was still present. So I was advised to have the UL1 Extracted, and due to the pain I agreed.

I had a partial Denture made with a false UL1 to cover the gap from the extracted tooth.

For some reason the socket was not healing correctly, so I was referred to kings college. They cut a door in the gum above the UL1 socket and scrubbed the bone, and then stitched me back up.

After this, the gum seemed to heal correctly. But the pain remained and seemed to move across to the UL2. So I consulted with another dentist about my pain, and was recommended to have a Root canal. I then had the UL2 Root canaled.

Even after this the pain remained, so I had the UL2 extracted and an addition UL2 added to my Plate.

And again it seemed the pain shifted, to the UL3. After more consultations with a dentist I had the UL3 Root Canaled to treat the pain.

And despite this the pain remains. I recently had a new plate made and had the UL3 retreated by an Endodontist who was of the opinion that my UL3 root filling was leaking.

For some reason, during the stage whereby they fill the tooth with a cleaning chemical the pain seemed to lessen in severity. But after when the Retreatment was finalised the original pain returned.

To give you an idea of the pain that I am experiencing. When I floss Around the UL3 and bring the floss up to the top margin I get a sharp stinging type pain. That is just like the pain you get when you floss to hard and cut your gums.

Please if anyone can relate or offer and advice I will be most grateful.

Thank You.

Aaron.
