Default bone graft

Hi, first post, so i'll make this short. I recently had bone graft and was supposed to get some implant work at same time, but my surgeon found bone to be so poor he only did the graft for now. He also used a portion of my own bone mixed with the material to help with its success. Got my fingers crossed.
My question is what are things, if any i can do or take to promote good bone growth or taking of the graft? Are there vitamins, diet changes, supplements etc that might help. I'm 53 yrs old BTW...I once had a fusion in c5-7area of neck that didnt take with all cadaver bone. It was redone several yrs later with bone from my hip. Although i believe the first failure was caused by my continued use of tobacco smoking. Thats an issue now also. I no longer smoke tobacco, but have been using an e-cig since first of yr. These supposedly only contain nicotine in their vapor which you then wean from.
So, long enuf for now. If any history or details are needed please respond. I just really need success, almost dont feel i can live with the mistake i made in getting to this point, which i let an immidiacare dentist talk me into. Wish id been better informed.
Thanks, Tee
