Default Dental nightmare!

Hello! It's my first time posting about my problems. Here goes! I'm 53 years old.
2 years ago I had a titanium implant placed at tooth number 13 (30 year old root canal) I had the tooth extracted because it broke level with my gums and the only option was a root lengthening or implant. The implant was an immediate placement (same time as the extraction). For the next several days after I started to have severe pressure in the area and a very uncomfortable tightness. Also, I had a metallic taste/salty taste and dry mouth. I knew within a few days that something was wrong. I went back to the dentist and he took an Xray and said it all looked good, that what I was feeling was a normal healing response and to just give it time. I waited a week more and still the pressure was building. I kept pressing around the other teeth and it would temporarily relieve some of the pressure. While driving, I had a very strong sense of pressure and pushed the tooth in the very back, number 15 and I lost vision in my left eye for a second and a rush of floaters filled my vision. I almost got into an accident!

I rushed to the closest oral surgeons office and begged to be seen....explaining what just happened. They saw me and took a OPG of my jaw and said everything looked fine! I couldn't believe it!! I begged to have the implant removed, but they wouldn't do it! They then escorted me across the street to an emergency room and I had a CT scan of my head because of the symptoms I told them about. Nothing showed on the CT scan as well!

I tried to contact the dentist that did the implant and he turned off his voice mail!....I couldn't believe it!!! I was freaking out!!!

The next day I was at his door begging to have the implant removed. He did not believe anything was wrong and said he wouldn't remove the implant as it was malpractice!!!.....I was shocked!!!...I told him it was my body and I was having a reaction to the implant and demanded it be removed. He wouldn't!!

I had to fight for over a week with him to finally agree to remove it!

The implant removal was very easy!...It came out in 30 seconds!!

I was now hoping that all of my problems would resolve in time, but that wasn't going to be the case at all. The tooth next to it was also a root canal tooth and was always a little sensitive to be touched and a little achy,
the dryness in my mouth continued, but the salty/metallic taste went away. I started to do research on why I was feeling so bad. I started to have a lot of physical problems that I didn't before. Pains in my joints, abdomen, dry eyes and double vision, muscle weakness, fatigue, etc.....
My research led me to many books and internet sites about Holistic dentistry. Cavitations, root canal, mercury fillings, etc.....All toxic issues to the body.

I went and saw many holistic dentist's all around the country. I had pretty much every test done. Xrays (regular, 3D, CT...etc), Cavitat, Electodermal, etc....

The conclusion by all of them was that I had several cavitations in my extraction sites, wisdom teeth, tooth 18 (old root canal extraction), Tooth 13, 12 and 10. I had 10 and 12 extracted at different times because 12 got painful and I needed it extracted right away. It was done by a holistic dentist in my area and was a very traumatic experience. He was very rough and it took a long time for the tooth to come out, and when it did, it broke! The healing took about 2 months and it never felt right!

This brings me to the present time. I had just had dental revision done by a well known holistic dentist. I had 2 crown's replaced that had metal in them and mercury under them. I had the Cavitation surgery and the last root canal removed all under conscious sedation. It was a 4 hour surgery.

The healing from the revision was very fast! He used a newer technique called PRF....Which is using your own blood in the extraction/cavitation sites to heal faster. It is amazing!!

The problem I still have is that the pressure is building again in the upper left quadrant and I don't know what do do next! Also, my sinus's seem to be involved since the extraction of tooth 12 almost a year ago. I have had post nasal drip since the extraction.

After spending $16,000 on dental work and still not feeling good I'm not sure what to do now! I feel lost!

Any help anyone has regarding this would be greatly appreciated! I feel very alone in this, as my family and friends don't know what to believe.

Thanks again!!

I really pray that Briannna reads this!...I trust her and respect her immensely!

Hi Dave,

Thank you for the kind words
Also thank you for the very descriptive and informative post. I would love to see your xrays of pre and post up dental revision

It can be difficult to diagnose bone infection as the bacteria can hide in the nooks and crannies of the bone. Or the bacteria could have migrated to other areas that are asymptomatic. It can be very difficult to surgically eradicate the bacteria completely that resides in the jaw bone from infected teeth and/or bone cavitation for the same reason. This is one of the reasons why it can be almost impossible to get a dentist to perform the surgery.

The true goal of these surgeries is to improve the condition of the bone and pray that the bacteria is not hiding someplace else. It is not uncommon for an area to flare up at some point in time. So any dental work that is done in these areas, can become compromised due to a recurrence of the original problem. Sometimes the recurrence is symptom free, other times it is not. Sometimes it is minimal, other times it is not.

Given the symptoms with your upper left sinus and pressure building up in that area leads me to think that there may have been a communication between tooth #12, and possibly #13, and the sinus. Did the dentist mention anything about that to you at any time pre or post op the removal of #12?

Have you gone back to the holistic dentist who did the surgeries and dental revisions for evaluation on the upper left? Have you had a consult with an Ear Nose and Throat doctor?
