what will happen if the tooth is extracted while it is infected and no antibiotics are taken? will extraction cure the jawbone infection or can it persist even after extraction?

You will need to take antibiotics to cure the infection. Is there a reason for which you can't take them? Tooth infections are very dangerous, you can have lots of complications. I'm a dental assistant btw.

JIm,
Your dentist will know if an antibiotic is necessary for the extraction as he is the one diagnosing it. Not all extractions require antibiotics even when the tooth is infected. It is best to discuss that with the dentist who would be doing the extraction. Bryanna
