Ok, let us know what he says on tuesday.
In the meantime, continue with the warm salt water rinses and cut back on smoking as much as you possibly can =) Bryanna Quote:

I had this done several years ago. Did everything go perfectly...no, but my tooth was infected and had to go. I really haven't had many problems since. My sinuses have always been a little out of whack so I'm more than used to having issues when the seasons change. But honestly...it really wasn't that bad. Best of luck to all of us.

dont want to have a surgery
hi, i had my upper molar tooth extracted last feb18 and sinusitis got worse. i feel drowsiness, facial pain, and bad odor from my left nose.
i just wanted to know if there alternatives aside from surgery to close the hole...:o |
Hi fionzy,
Was there a sinus exposure during the extraction of the tooth? Did you develop sinusitis after the extraction or did you have it before? Your description of symptoms are indicative of a sinus infection. Have you visited your doctor or dentist? Bryanna Quote:

Hi Webster,
It is common for the first week or two, to have an unpleasant odor from the mouth and nose after any tooth extraction. The smell is caused by the open surgical site. However, if your son had a sinus exposure or even a near sinus exposure occur during the extraction of his tooth... and the odor is getting progressively worse, then he should be checked by the dentist and an xray of that area could be helpful in diagnosing that. Did he see the dentist recently....was there an xray taken? Bryanna Quote:

Hi bryanna, I have a question. My sinuses have been really bad. Its my tooth 18, bottom molar on the left side. I'm getting it removed today. Do you think that will solve my problems? Headaches, face feelis like its on fire. After the extraction. Any tips?

Hi dolphindanny,
Well, your lower teeth are not directly connected to any sinus issues. However, if you have an infected tooth anywhere in your mouth and the infection has become systemic, which means it has made you physically ill, then the infection could travel to your upper respiratory system which could ultimately involve your sinuses. How did the extraction go today? I suggest that you follow your dentists post operative instructions as best as possible to avoid secondary infection. Did you tell him/her that your sinuses have been bothering you? Bryanna Quote:
