My dear 18 yr old grandgirl let their dentist use fluoride gel bath on her beautiful teeth and she's ended up with dental fluorosis....if you ingest fluoride, that will do it... I could say more but I better stop. What it does to teeth, think about what it's doing to our bones.

caroline2,

I agree that fluoride should be avoided as it is a by product of toxic waste and has no healthy benefit in the human body. However, you cannot get dental fluorosis from occasional topical applications of fluoride at the dentists office. I am not condoning the topical applications... I'm just saying the person has to be using or ingesting more fluoride than that to end up with fluorosis. Another way for a person to have fluorosis is if they ingested fluoride via their water, food, vitamins, or meds as a young child. And that goes for a pregnant woman who ingested those things as she would then pass the fluoride onto her fetus.

Bryanna, maybe my daughter and grandgirl didn't tell me the whole story on just how many fluoride baths the dentist has been doing. I know they are fanatic about NOT drinking tap water as it was fluoridated in 2009, so maybe they didn't tell me everything. They know how holistic I am...she definitely has mild to medium fluorosis.

caroline2,

The topical fluoride used on kids in the dental office is given at the cleaning appts. So the most she would have had it would be twice a year if that. I still don't condone that.

Unless, she was using the fluoride in trays at home? Some dentists recommend them when a child has poor oral hygiene or braces. Using that amount of fluoride daily in the trays will cause fluorosis.

Oh she went thru the braces, so MAYBE that is what she was dealing with doing "F" at home....grrrrrrrrrrr

They don't tell me everything and they shouldn't and I don't want to know everything but when she showed me her beautiful teeth last Dec I was shocked and I let it be known. My daughter got upset with me for some time .. I guess she took it personal that she was negligent. I was bashing the "F" industry. Thanks....

Bumping up...I continue to be amazed at the wonderful benefits of making my own Coconut Oil toothpaste...I brush with soft brush probably 3 times per day and virtually no plaque build up. I haven't done a professional cleaning in about 3 yrs now. Believe I've done my share of those harsh cleanings. Just what works for me.
