Hi NJ,

We seem to have quite a few people here outside of the US and I am so unfamiliar with the healthcare systems other than the screwed up one we have here in the US.

So keep us posted on how things are going. Hopefully you will get some answers and some proper guidance from your new ENT.

Hang in there.

I'm in Toronto, Ontario so navigating the Canadian health care system & learning more & more that you just have to keep on top of things yourself. Just the way it is now.
From what I'm reading, really don't want to mess around with this wisdom tooth if I don't have to. Could open up a big mess & at my age, happy to leave it alone if it's not bothering me.
My current ENT doctor seems good - willing to talk/explain things, young, wants to find out what's going on. Completely different than the 1st ENT I saw, thank goodness.
Thanks for touching base - will let you know what's going on when I find out more. You are doing such a great service by giving people on this forum an unbiased view. It is so difficult to know sometimes whether you're getting good information or direction from your dentist/doctor.
Be well.

Looks like it worked! For your info, this is panorex taken by my dentist on July 2, 2015.

But did have ct scan on Wed., got lab to "burn" copy of scan onto cd which I took to my ENT right away. Will see him again on Monday, once he has official report so we will talk more then. But as a preliminary - he sees no infection, no arthritis in bone, no cysts & sinuses looks fine. Mystery pain?? Thinks next step should be a neurologist (trigeminal nerve?). But I still think there is something going on with this eye tooth (sensitive to pressure).
Really don't think the wisdom tooth is causing problems. For all I know, my bruxism has been causing problems for years. But I've noted now that I have a slight swelling on the left side of my neck (Jawline - could be swollen lymph node?). I've been taking thyroid meds for past 30 years too.

On the whole, our Canadian health care system works well. But you need to be pro-active & well-informed. My original appt. for ct scan was Sept. 5th - I only got appt. moved up because I knew I had to make calls for cancellations myself - the doctors office is too busy to do it for you. Also, my hubby has us both covered under his gov't health care plan which includes dental coverage. We're very lucky. Otherwise all these appts/consultations would add up. eg. $150 consultation fee for 20 minutes with an endodontist.

Hi NJ,

Thanks for posting the panorex. It's of good diagnostic quality. The retained wisdom tooth in the upper left is easily visible and I just want to point out that it had to be visible radio graphically when both of those root canals in those 2 molars were done. Rather than assume, do you want me to tell you what I see on this panorex in addition to that wisdom tooth or would you rather not know? I will do whatever you are most comfortable with.
