Default Antibiotics not working

I have quite the problem going on. I have a deep cavity on my upper left first molar and am having it pulled on Thursday. It has to be done by an oral surgeon because the dentist thought it was too close to the sinus cavity for him to handle. I was prescribed a z-pack & sent home until the extraction date. Well I finished the z-pack but I'm not sure it worked.

My question is, is it possible for an abcess to not form on the gum but still be there? On Friday night the pain was so severe I was bawling on the couch and almost went to the ER. Then suddenly like a switch, the pain was gone. I fell asleep but when I woke up the next morning and since I have felt like there is draining from my sinuses. Could the abscess have somehow burst through my sinus?

The pain & feeling of pressure now comes and goes instead of being constant. My dentist is out of town due to the holiday. I'm not sure what to do. I think I need different antibiotics & I'm scared by Tuesday this could be really bad.
