In early August I had 4 wisdom teeth and 1 residual root removed. The surgery went pretty well and I had very little pain afterwards. The sockets for the four wisdom teeth have pretty much closed up, however the site of the root removal is still open and what appears to be bone is visible in the hole. I am not experiencing any pain. Should I be concerned at this point?

It is not normal healing for any bone to be exposed after oral surgery. Please go see the oral surgeon who removed your teeth for a clinical and radiographic evaluation. Hopefully it is something simple to remedy. But don't put it off because pain (or no pain) is not always a reliable indicator of the severity of a dental problem. Keep us posted.. Bryanna Quote:
