Default Best imaging for bone pathology

Hi Bryanna

I hope you could find some time to look into this thread, even though there are so many people with other (more pressing) problems.
This is not urgent though.

I would need to have some sort of a 3D scan. The doctor would need to look for any pathology in the jaw bone. It looks like you have had a look at many many 3D scans, so I thought I should ask you for help.
My question is: What imaging would give them a better (more detailed and more clear) view of the bone - is it a medical CT scan (in the standard helical CT scanner), or is it a cone beam scan? I guess I am talking about the resolution and the quality of the images - is CBCT any better than the classic CT?

They told me that CBCT does not give any info about any soft tissue pathology - is that true? What about sinuses?

Or does it all depend on the particular CBCT machine that was used?
