I had tooth #14 which was previously root canaled surgically extracted on 03/03/2016 , so 3 and a 1/2 weeks ago, and I had a sinus communication. I think it was a small opening, because I had water coming out of my nose and could hear the air flow the next day only and after that it stopped. When I had my follow up with the OS a week after the extraction, he said it closed up, only based on he closed my nostrils with his fingers and making me trying to blow air.
Luckily I never had to sneeze since the extraction, I don't blow my nose since then, and it feels like the site healed nicely. But i still have the question in my head, can that hole reopen ? The main reason why I am asking this is, at my workplace there is some kind of a cold or flu going on, so I was wondering if I get it and my sinuses get inflamed or something, will that have a bad effect on that sinus communication site ?

A small sinus perforation will heal within a few days to a week or so depending on the case. Any residual infection in the bone or sinus can interrupt the healing and/or make the area susceptible to poor healing.

If you have had no symptoms of the sinus still being open and your sinus and extraction site have been healthy, then it's probably closed.

No one can definitively tell you if getting a cold or sinus infection will reopen the sinus at that site at this stage of healing. It is best to take precautions to avoid getting sick which means washing your hands with soap and water frequently and avoid direct contact with anyone who is coughing or sneezing if possible. If you take vitamins than supplementing with a good multi vitamin and adding some extra C, D3 and zinc are all helpful with keeping the immune system resistant to many cold and flu germs this time of the year.
