Yes, it is normal to look like that the first week or so post op.
Late onset of pain, swelling, or fever, are symptoms associated with dry socket. Keep rinsing with warm salt water 3 times a day til the socket tissue closes over... keep your teeth clean and floss them to reduce the build up of plaque. FYI... Smoking or drinking alcohol will irritate the wound, dry out the bone (dry socket) and delay proper healing. Quote:
