Hello, First time posting here,
I had my top right first molar extracted 9 days ago. The socket appears to be healing well but I am having a couple other issues. The gums above the socket on the front side (the side you would see if I smiled) are extremely sore. Any pressure on them, like even if I like my lips irritates the area and then takes 5-10 minutes of actively avoiding the area for the pain to subside. Visually the gums are a tinge more red than normal but nothing alarming, is discomfort in this area normal this long after the extraction? Secondary question - I've been struggling to adjust to the orientation of my bite with the first molar missing. Even when i talk I sometimes slam the second molar into the bottom molar on that side, it feels like my jaw doesn't know how to function correctly anymore lol. Thanks for any and all help ![]() |
