I don't have your issue but have another issue from time to time with an old molar with broken filling, and I refuse to do major dental work, it's been going on for 10 yrs so I can go longer....What I do is use "dabs" of either Myrrh Tincture on the area, or Tea Tree Oil or Oil of Oregano (very strong so go lightly, dilute the OOO). These oils are wonderful for calming any pains but if it's a major issue then see a dentist.

Mine started pre dental work. I was having a nagging pain on the upper left premolar area. Waited it out, dentist changed a filling that did not help. Saw an endodontist who was not quick to act, sent home to wait and see.. after 4 weeks with no improvement we root canaled the suspect tooth. Did not help waited another 3 months and pain was worse so did the neighboring tooth to no avail. Considered pulling but keep going back and fourth on it. Doctors don't recommend.
Orofacial pain doc thinks its nerves however I have large fillings all over the place. My pain was in the gum area but also shoots up above the tooth near the root pain can be very very bad. I am just trying to live with it but not 100% certain on the diagnosis of AO. It still might be a micro fracture. |

Hot and cold for me I don't think is a trigger however I have a bototm cracked molar. We are crowing that in two weeks. When cold hits it, I get pain. We were thinking referrred pain perhaps however most of the time it is just the upper teeth aching and pushing on the gums when it's flaring hurts. Yours sounds more trigeminal. My doc wants me to get a brain MRI. I am waiting due to covid. If hot sun is triggering your pain on your check, it sounds like a nerve issie. Have you seen an orofacial pain specialist?

Someone had provided me with a link to orofacial pain docs and I found one about 45 min away from me. Let me see if I can find the link for you.

Not sure if your still active on this forum. I sent you a pm but I don't get on here too much. I am now having pain with heat it sets off a extremely intense jolt of nerve pain. If you happen to read this I would love to hear how you are doing? I hope no news is good news in your case.

Did you ever try to work with Myrrh Tincture as I've posted above?
