Had a sudden swelling in my face neck and jaw and couldn't open my mouth at all. Went to hospital as an emergency and was on IV antibiotics for 3 days. Now I have a hard lump along and above my jawbone on the same side - about the size of an egg.. A dental surgeon is seeing me next week. I am taking antibiotics for a recurrent infection. Do I need any treatment immediately or will it wait? I feel generally unwell.

Hi susannah,
It would be best to call the oral surgeon today and describe your swelling. The antibiotics you are currently taking may or may not be helpful. They may want to see you sooner than next week. Please let us know how you're doing! Bryanna Quote:
