Hi Bryanna,
My GP put me on Actonel last year, and I took it until a few months ago. Overall I think I took it for about 4 months, but every single morning I was waking up vomiting. As Actonel was the only new thing in my life (diet included) I assumed that the Actonel was the culprit, so I stopped taking it. That was about 3 months ago, but haven't told my GP yet. I broke 6 bones in 5 years from osteo, so my GP was adamant that I take this medication. As much as I like her, she doesn't like being told that you don't like a certain medication, and she doesn't like you going against what she says. There's no use saying change doctors because that's not an option. There just aren't any others to go to. There's a severe lack of doctors in the state where I live, and none are taking new patients, so unfortunately it's a case of put up with what you've got...... like it or lump it!

I forgot to say before that since stopping the Actonel, I haven't vomited once!
Shelley I forgot about the Vit D! I was taking 1000iu prior to the Actonel, then I completely forgot to restart it when I tossed the Actonel out. My neuro checked my VitD levels last year, and they were rather low, so thank you for reminding me. I'll get some more tomorrow and restart them.

I was looking for something I read a while ago, the theory was ,
you can get a days dose of vit D by being out in the sun for 30 minutes - sun has to get into your eyes {no sunglasses} { takes longer time in winter due to sun distance and low angle} I did find this so far - [What do the following conditions have in common: osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer? Give up? Experts suspect that insufficient levels of vitamin D raise your risk of getting these diseases. Unfortunately, most of us probably are vitamin D deficient.] http://www.motherearthnews.com/Natur...pplements.aspx I'll just post the google results link - all quite interesting I think... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...ne&btnG=Search

I know this is an old post and I want to bring attention to Strontium for stronger bones, teeth and osteoporosis issue. I've taken Strontium off and on for some yrs and am back to taking it as directed by the producers...There are specific directions on the use of Strontium.
Here is just One info link and there are many, and I may start a post on Strontium for teeth and bones. Article | Strontium for Bone Health | Hoffman Center | DR. RONALD HOFFMAN |
