Default Dental help!!!

need help. i had my lower right mouler extracted over a week ago, its still sore, my teeth either side of it hurt, and it does not look like its healing.
Ive just started using salt water and feels abit better, how long does it take wound to actually heal???

It is not uncommon for the adjacent teeth next to the one that was extracted to feel sore or achey for a couple of weeks after the tooth was extracted. HOWEVER, your description of the hole and the pain sounds like you may have a dry socket. This condition too could cause the adjacent teeth to hurt or feel sore.

A dry socket needs intervention from your dentist. I would suggest that you make an appointment as soon as possible for him to check it out to determine if it needs to be treated.

A note about rinsing....... the only thing you should be rinsing with is warm salt water, NOTHING ELSE. Mouthwashes contain alcohol and this will cause a dry socket to occur. Herbal rinses will irritate the wound and can cause a delay in healing resulting in a dry socket as well.
