Default hello, Iam new and I have some widsom tooth issue... PLEASE HELP!!

I am a 31 y/o male who had his upper left side wisdom tooth removed by general anesthesia last monday 23 Feb 09.

I had to get it done because it was sort of impacted and not enough space for my other molars on that side of my mouth which was causing decay and actually caused decay in the last molar before the wisdom tooth in the back.

The dentist went ahead and substracted both the tooth with the huge cavity all the way in the back and the wisdom tooth since it was convenient.

10 days later the healing is going great, I wasn't even swollen from the procedure, not even pain or discomfort in the area

the only issue is the dentist informed me of hole in the sinuses but he gave me antibiotics and told me most likely will heal by itself..... so far i haven't felt mucus going into my mouth or water I drink coming outta my nose, so I assume is all good.

however I do get several dizzy spells throughout the day on the top of my head (left side) and pinching sensations here and there around the top of my head mostly if I lay down I feel some discomfort on the side of my head i'm laying on...... however is mostly on the left side (same side the wisdom tooth was extracted from)...... I also endured two horrible headaches after the procedure that went away only after I fell asleep for a few hours...... I get this wierd sensations up there in the skull it seems and the little flashes of pain come and go within seconds

I dont know what to think, has any one been thru the same?

my doctor is on vacation PFFF GREAT!!!

plus I thought it was a nerve damaged or something but apparently that only occurs during lower wisdom teeth extractions.
either way I dont know what to think.

Hi andy,

Well.......... to clarify, nerve damage can occur anyplace in the mouth, not just the lower jaw. Not to say that is your problem.....

Because you had a sinus exposure, it is wise to have the dentist who did the extractions take a post op look at the area and take an xray to see if the sinus opening is healing. The bony sockets that held the teeth take months to heal closed completely, but the sinus exposure should only take a few days to a week depending on how large it was.

You could also be experiencing pain along the bundle of nerves in that area as the area is healing and the nerves are rejuvenating. But it would be best to have the surgeon check it.

Please let us know what he says.............
