AP - The government declared Tuesday that silver dental fillings contain too little mercury to harm the millions who've had cavities filled with them — including young children — and that only people allergic to mercury need to avoid them.

Makes sense to me. I have a mouthful and I've never been concerned about them. I had read information on it before.

I dont know that I would agree with this
I had a number mercury fillings and my test results showed high mercury from which I have been chelated. A lot of "mystery" health issues I was having cleared up after the extraction of those molars and completed chelation ( I used chlorella first for 3 months, followed by a course of alpha lipoic acid capsules.) perhaps for most people it isnt an issue, but for me the mercury fillings were definitely causing health problems.

Hey Chemar,
Thanks for sharing your own story about mercury fillings. I know of countless people who have become healthier since removing their mercury fillings. I've had patients that could no longer function well enough to go to work and had to be physically helped by someone to just walk from one side of the room to the other. After the proper procedure to remove their mercury was done along with chelation therapy...... these people were well again! I had a middle aged man who had slowly lost the peripheral vision in his left eye. His eye doctor could find no physical reason for the loss of sight. We removed his mercury fillings (following the proper protocol) and some of them had been on his 3 upper left teeth. A few weeks after his final chelation therapy, he calls me to tell me that his peripheral vision had returned completely in his left eye! I've had patients who were dealing with thyroid disorders who were able to stop their thyroid meds after their mercury fillings were removed! The evidence of toxicity from mercury poisoning is mounting continuously... and hopefully one day it will be eliminated from most sources within our control. Quote:

I won't be removing mine anytime soon. I wouldn't have many teeth left.

Kitt,
Agreed. A person has to do what they think is in their own best interest, absolutely. However, the personal choice to do nothing does not change the fact that mercury in itself is toxic to every living creature and not just for those who may be sensitive to it or those who have made the connection between their ill health and elevated (heavy metal) mercury levels. Some people will show signs of toxicity within hours of exposure and others will not. But that does not mean that the ones who have the early symptoms are the only ones at risk. Everyone exposed to mercury is at risk irrelevant of who they are. Mercury passes from the mother to her fetus from the foods she eats, from the water she drinks, from the air she breathes and from the mercury fillings she has in her mouth. It is a very serious problem because the fetus is in a vulnerable state as it is growing which means the mercury that is consumed by the mother affects the fetus many times more seriously than even the mother. Research shows that many thousands of babies are born with "inherited" and other neurological problems from the elevated mercury levels passed onto them in their blood. These are the facts that should not be ignored or taken lightly. Here is what the EPA has to say... http://www.epa.gov/mercury/health.htm You mentioned that if you removed your mercury fillings that you wouldn't have many teeth left. Just for clarification purposes..... removing mercury fillings does not involve removing the teeth. The teeth stay right where they are they just get new, safer fillings put in them. By any chance have you ever had your mercury levels checked? If not, then you could not say for certain that you don't have a problem. I think it is great that you feel well and live your life so optimistically....... hopefully that will never change! Bryanna Quote:

It is common knowledge that mercury in any form in any amount has been scientifically found to be a health hazard to all living creatures...... absolutely NO ONE is exempt from this fact. Just because the FDA decides to "reword", rather contradict, there original stand on this topic does not make the substance safe. The FDA gives strict warnings to pregnant women about consuming mercury foods/fish during pregancy due to the scientific evidence that mercury causes neurological damage to the unborn child. So how then can the FDA tell the public..... it's ok to chew on mercury day after day, year after year??? Here's the article....
http://www.fda.gov/Food/FoodSafety/P.../ucm115662.htm In the dental profession, it is illegal to dispose of ANY mercury particles in the garbage or sewer system. ALL mercury is considered HAZARDOUS WASTE and by law must be disposed of properly because IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD. So how can it be SAFE in our mouths, entering our digestive system with every swipe of saliva or food? What about the fact that we wear it in our teeth not far from our brains?? Mercury is in many things including food, air, water......... we are bombarded with it every day. It is the accumulated concentrations in our daily lives that cause permanent harm to our bodies. Many of these things are for the most part unavoidable but when it comes to the type of fillings we put in our mouths .... we should not have to be subjected to such a toxic substance. Anyone who wants to learn about mercury should take a minute and read the following articles....... again NO ONE is exempt to the toxicity of mercury. http://www.medterms.com/script/main/...ticlekey=10991 Bryanna Quote:
