Hi Dave ~~ I'm so sorry you're feeling so down. I can totally relate. i've had depression since I was a child -- so it's been many years. I'm taking an antidepressant for it, and it makes all the difference in the world. I feel MUCH better now.

You're right, that people DO let us down alot. I guess that's why I've lowered my expectations -- if I don't expect much from people, I'm less likely to get hurt. Also, since my husband died, my friends all dumped me, so I don't have to worry so much about people letting me down -- I don't see anyone! LOL

Have you gotten any treatment for your depression? I've been in and out of therapy for years, and I have found that talking to a counselor DOES help. Many times there are "buried" reasons for our depression, and talking to someone helps to bring those things out. We may not even know what's bothering us, but talking to someone usually can turn the light on.

Don't hesitate to keep talking here -- we'll always listen. And if you feel like talking to someone, you're welcome to message me. I wish you the very best. God bless & take care of YOU. Hugs, Lee

Default Hi Leesa

I have not gone away, but continue to lurk a bit. I know about depression too, as I have not posted in awhile. I am loosing my home and facing throat cancer now. They want to try to "hold" it off. wonderful... You list of proceedures is long, and mine is getting to be. I wish all this would go away for all the people on this site. There is alot of suffering. I never forget the people I have met here eithor. I have just been too depressed to join in. I do have a glimmer of hope, that my state Rep. will step in to help me, so I don't loose my home. Pain comes in many forms does it not? Take care leesa, I wish there was something I could do but pray. ginnie

Default Hi lady deedee

I know deprression too, and I am praying for you. Don is around on this site too and prays for your too. YOu are not alone. I struggle daily with the betrayal of my daughter, a grandson, I am not allow to see. All over money. I do know that soul ripper, and I come back to this site for support. You are cared about even when others have let you down. You will find kindness here, and if not real help, then real hope. I talk with several people now on a regular basis, and they have helped me not to panic, when I feel that way. There are others on this planet who are good and won't hurt you even if others have let you down. Please do write back if you care to. I am always around, but now splitbetween two sites. I developed a pre-cancer and had to look at another site. Please do something nice for yourself, anything little to help you cope. always ginnie

Default RE wish for words

[I wish words and prayers were enough to help all our troubles. It seems that so many suffer the awful depression that comes will illness. It is rather hard to feel good when you hurt enough to scream. doesn't work does it.... just keep coming back here to this site. I really think if negative thoughts are on the brain, it is best to reach out to those who are there, or have struggled through it. None of it is easy, but it is easier with friends we make here. I will pray again for the pain we all feel. ginnie

Dave...
Try to remember that depression runs rampant. This means that people who seem "ok" on the outside, might also be depressed. They might have many, many "issues," that you are not aware of. They are faking it...but not totally doing the best job...because they are letting those around them down. It likely has nothing to do with you. True...it is hard not to take it personally, but best that you do NOT.

IN the mean time, do what you can to boost your mood. Research ways to break out of depression. Find healthy techniques to boost your self esteem and cope with life's difficulties. Build yourself up, so that what others do, or fail to do, doesn't bother you excessively.

Would you consider going to a therapist? Are you doing the little (yet important) things like eating right, exercising and taking your vitamins?

What hobbies do you have? Try to explore them to get out and meet new people.

Angry I know how you feel

Hello, I know the feeling a little b it to well. I've been depressed for the past 7-years. I've been on every medication and still feel depressed, like the whole wolrd is against me with no way out and no one to turn to. I have my days when I'm so depressed that I don't want to be here, I get migrains do to the medication and allergies. I have nobody to talk to because they all might thinkthat I'm crazy. Nobody knows how I feel and don't seem to care. I fell like I'm in a big whole with no way out, and the more I try to get out the more I get stuck and pulled back in. Dpression sucks......
