thats one tough problem i had with the "SSDI".not meeting some of there criteria(like age, education, injury level, etc, blah, blah).those factors there will definetly slow up the process and make it agonizing.been there, but what did help the most was my smart and savy lawyer.when i got turned down the first time he appealed it of course, but in the mean time he found flaws in my doctor work!!..it what help me.didnt have to go back to court.i just went to the ss office, applied, approve right there in the office...done!

I hope you get the SSD. Glad you have a lawyer. My own viewpoint is that the system is broken and overloaded. No money to take on more people, so they make it harder to get in the first place. Many may disagree with me, but I see good people in real trouble being denied over and over again, until they are destitute etc. I hate seeing this, and I pray about this every day. ginnie

Don, I think I have a very good lawyer and I have to believe I will be approved this time. Its just so sad it has taken this long, of course you get back pay but the lawyer gets paid and you pay off all the debts over the four years and just like that its gone. But a monthly check will be a blessing. thanks for the post, I really appreciate it.

Ginnie, I agree with you 100%, and thru all the debate's for president nobody even said one word about the social security system. I am only 45 so that does play a role, it should'nt if your disabled what does your age have to do with anything. I pray everyday things will work out. thank you for your reply I really appreciate it.

Brett---Im sorry I know when my mum was alive it took 4 yrs to get with attorneys ....the system in crazy. My mum broke both hips and had a major stroke from not being found for 12 hrs in a snow storm-- she was buried under snow. She was a head surgical nurse for a living....it took her 5 yrs just to use a walker. They tried to say maybe she could teach ???? Really she could barley speak. What I did find out is the person assigned to her case retired ...on the 4th appeal the new case worker approved her right away. Her check was prorated back for the 4 yrs of lost income. Wonder if you can ask your case to be reviewed by another person since its been 4 yrs. I dont understand as I know ppl who apply within a year who or not half as bad as my mum had no problems.Keep fighting it hard!! Best wishes Brett!!
