Default Ketamine Treatments Infusion & Nasal

It has been recommended that I try Ketamine for my treatment resistant depression. i live in Phoenix Arizona and the only thing I have found so far is a Depression Recovery Center which wants you to enroll in whole programs. I am looking for a doctor, preferably a psychiatrist who is working with Ketamine off label.

Hi Lifeartist,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups!

I'm sorry I don't know anything about this, but just read an article in our
Health News Headlines Forum this morning.

I thought I'd post it here in case it was helpful to you.

Ketamine could help treat severe depression: research

I am not sure how you'd find a doctor who would be prescribing this,
but you could try checking out the Depression Forum at the NeuroTalk sister-site which is PsychCentral.

PsychCentral Depression

Also, the people on our RSD and CRPS Forum
have a lot of posts regarding Ketamine.

I'm not sure if they could help you with off-label prescribing though.

Default Hi Lara

Some of the best information is through JAMA, a medical journal. This should be available at your local library, or teaching hospital. All the recent work with Ketamine, from infusions for RSD, Depression etc. is available. Clinical trials are also discussed. This is where I go for the latest research. Doctors and scientists from around the world publish articles in that Magazine. I wish you all the best. ginnie

Thank you ginnie.

I think you may have meant to post to Lifeartist rather than me, but I appreciate your post.

Default Hi Lara

Yes, I did mean to post to the other thread. Sometimes I still get confused! I really hope the Ketamine works on depression as well as pain for people. I had an infusion for pain and it did work. ginnie

So glad to read of your success with the infusion for pain, ginnie. Excellent.
Glad that you are hopefully having some comfort nowadays.

Now I am not sure about this treatment? Does it help for pain or depression or both? Also if you do have it done does it make you depressed? Breezy55~

You can also look online @ centerwatch.com for enrolling clinical trials of interest near you.

And this recently on ketamine from the NeuroTalk sister site Psych Central ...
