My doctor started me on Lexapro and Clonazepam 10 days ago. I am a zombie. I can't get anything done. Just don't have enough energy to get up and do anything.
Yes, I am sleeping better. But I don't care about anything. Just sit and watch TV.

I realize that it takes a while to adjust to theses meds, but I thought maybe a few days.

Is this normal for day 10? What's the normal time frame to get back to normal? Or is this (full-zombie) the new normal?

I'm getting discouraged and don't know if I should call my doctor, or give it more time. This seems to be the case where the cure is worse than the problem?

Would really appreciate some feedback from others on these same meds.

I'm just wondering why your Dr would put you on both of these at the same time ? I looked up the drug interaction between the two and you're feeling pretty much like it said you would. If I'm reading the info correctly it's like duplicate therapy.

You do need to call your Dr and tell him what's going on.

You can take Lexapro and Clonazepam together, there's nothing wrong with that. I am guessing it's the Clonazepam that is causing the problem. What dosage are you taking and how often?

Sorry if I confused anyone that read this. I didn't mean to say they could not be taken together just what the interaction can be when taken together.

It's easy for that to happen when communicating online. So much is missing in the written word vs in person conversations.

LMPinkereton, I should have elaborated yesterday but I was short on time.

I took the combination (Lexapro and Clonazepam) for 2 years until the Lexapro quit working. Clonazepam never quit working for the reason I took it and was on it for 10 years.

Lexapro also quit working for me after 7 years. I then went on Paxil which I am still on today. Had to increase from 20 mg to 40 mg a day when this SFN hit.

I guess any of them can quit working after a time.

Educate yourself
Sometimes before any Meds be taken in cocktail form
A person needs to know what reactions come from which
medicine
Absolutely cocktail Meds especially in your case
and how your reactions from them are
Be careful and call your pharmacy or doctor
If any questions needs answering
It was a mess for me
Lexapro was the last drug I took for my hands and feet
This drug is a major no no for me
If you want to know more details just ask
In combination with another drug never had the chance

I agree with eva5667faliure.

When having more than one prescription they should be taken one at a time. Take one for x amount of time to see how you react to it (side effects), then add in the other medication.

Thank you to everyone of you who have helped me. I agree with all of you, which is why I posted with this question. To me starting both of these meds on the same days seems strange. I'm on day 11 now and things are starting to even out.
I have had a whole list of medical problems for the last 17 years and have been passed from one doctor to the next with no long lasting results. I had really given up, but thought I'd try one more time. I took a list of 11 things I needed fixed to my doctor appointment 11 days ago and I said wasn't leaving until something was done. I typically the answer of "get lab work done and come back in 3 months".
I think he gave me these 2 meds just to get rid of me on that day. That's why I hesitated calling the doctor back. He probably would have told me to stop both and come back in 3 months. So as a last resort, I think I'll just try and ride this out and see what happens a month from now.
