Default Monday Monday Monday

I can already tell this isn't going to be a good day. I hate to be such of a defeatist, but it sucks already.

Michael, sneaking down at 10:00pm to get a GameBoy, slipped on the wood floor and hit his head on the head of our wooden rocking cow and his thigh on the rocker portion and his bootie on the floor. He has a huge bump on his head behind his ear and this thigh was horribly bruised...I've never seen a bruise come up that fast. I'm debating on whether to take him to the doctor. If he is okay this morning I won't because I hate to go sit in the pediatrician's office when he is well and expose him to every disease waiting to be seen (he has seizures and I hate to expose him to illnesses that could raise his temperature).

I didn't sleep well, nobody would wake up and now am in a bad mood. Grrrr what a way to start the day.

I hope yours is better.

Julie here is some ER advice, hope it helps . . .

If he has seizures I would be on the lookout to make sure the bump didn't decrease his seizure threshold. Ice to the owie on the head and be on the lookout for severe vomiting, headache, changes in vision, hard to wake him up, etc. . . The bruise will be ugly and ice will help, but it will have to go away on its own. If he keeps having severe pain in that leg make sure that he hasn't injured the bone. Otherwise you can give him tylenol or motrin for the pain (if he is not allergic- and it doesn't go against any other meds).

Thanks for the advice. I took him to the doctor as when he woke up there was blood in his ear. He flunked all neuro tests with flying colors so he sent us to the children's hospital. They did a CT scan which showed closed head injury...concussion. He has to take it easy for a few. Four days before fall break and he gets time off...lolol

Oh Julie -- I'm so sorry -- what a scary thing to happen. Here's hopes and prayers that things go well for you and your son.

((((((JULIE)))) I am so sorry!!!!

Me - I am doing ok, mentally I am doing ok, but physically I am still struggling. I am going to the doctor tomorrow (later today) at 11am. It hurts when I urinate SOMETIMES (It's weird) but other times it doesn't. I don't know if I have a UTI but if I do it is probably a kidney infection because my back isn't any better, so I don't know. Guess I will find out tomorrow. Laura just wants me to go to make sure I don't have one, and get treatment if I do, but it means getting a cath and that is not high on my priority list of things to do in a day....
Today I had my contact with Laura, and we talked about (later on down the road) mw graduating from ACT. That's a little scary, because I have gotten used to all the support I get, and if I didn't have that, I don't know if I would be as mentally stable. I guess that's why I am not graduating right now....good thing to think about for the future though....
I ended up in ER with my friend Julie tonight, so that is why I am posting so late......She has scoliosis and is having a horrible time with her back (we could be twins) and doesn't have a PCP so she goes to ER most the time, but we ended up seeing Laura there with a client and chatted while they were waiting........
Oh, and I found out today that she is really interested in the house (my grandma's) so hopefully things will go through so she can purchase it. It would be so cool to know who it went to and that she would talke good care of it. Well, I am off to bed....I have to get up by 9am. Talk to you all later.
