Hi Bw/T
I'm sorry your family is frustrated by your condition. Mine just tended to baby me and do anything remotely strenuous. I moved out of state almost 3 years ago and have found myself to be quite self sufficient out of necessity. I now find myself having to move back for financial reasons. It should prove interesting to see if they will accept a more frail yet independent me. I was reading your recent post and I thought, maybe you could patent your q-table. You've got drawings and a "prototype" made already. You could start with researching on line and see if it's been done. I'm sure there are instructions on how to go about aquiring a patent. Just a thought. I'd never heard of a stick w/rubber tip, nor have I tried the eraser. I'll have to try the eraser trick tomorrow. Maybe even look on line for the stick thingie. I'm not sure it will work as holding anything is painful too. Even the lightest object seems heavy. I've tried those rubber fingers, I used them back in the day to assist in sorting papers at office job and volunteer work. You have a strong spirit and willingness to trudge on. I believe you'll keep on, keeping on. |
Beth,
Thanks for the complement. The quilting table has alreadly been pantented (a couple different versions). I took what I liked from the several different designs and that is how I made mine. i only had their advertising photos to go by. I'm sure I would be sued by 5 different companies for patent infringment. I will always feel good that we accomplished it. Let me know how the pencil works. I used to use a pencil when I was in college just out of pure laziness. What are your favorite types of books? I have a pretty odd palette. I like sci-fi and certain horror (Stephen King, Peter Straub). My all time favorite book is DreamSnake by Vonda N. McIntyre. I bought it many years ago in paper back and read it so many times that it fell into about 20 pieces. I was lucky enough to get a hard back copy on ebay. It is now out of print. I believe the biggest differences in our families is; MS is progressive, you will always have it and limitations will continue to encroach on your life. Back injuries are supposed to heal, they are not supposed to be life altering, they are not supposed to creat limitations. At least that is the popular belief but often not the reality. My family just needs time, just like I need time. Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can, seldom in a woman, never in a man. My DH hates when I say that. |
