Default Wednesday

Was going to reply on the Tuesday thread, but decided to start another one for today.

I *hope* I can keep this up, guys. I really, really would like to hang out with you guys again. It was nice being here and it really helped me.

Hey Idealist ~ Thanks for the welcome! And I remember seeing your old name too.

I LOVE dance. Started when I was 4 years old... Had a full dance scholarship to college... And then spent years doing choreography for community theater and high school musicals. I got into the dance team coaching by just seeing an ad in the paper. I absolutely LOVE it. It's so wonderful to work with teenagers... They are soooo moody... But very talented and just so cool.

I have a son, so we're all football-basketball-baseball at my house. I LOVE that too. But, it's nice to work with the girls because I feel like I have 20 daughters sometimes! LOL.

Ideal ~ You have daughters? How old and what are they up to?

Resq ~ I hope today is better for you? (((((Hugs)))))

Take care ~ Sly

Hi friends,
I had a good day today, got a 4.0 on my journal for children's literature. I didn't think I did well, but the professor actually read it in class as an example entry. Made me feel good about things.
Today was moving day for my mom (moving out of my grandma's house and into an apt.) I saw the psychiatrist today, and he is going to decrease my cogentin (for side effects) because I have a horribly dry mouth. I have a dry mouth anyway because of all my other meds, but I have been particularly dry since starting Torazodone for sleep a few months ago. It is not as needed, it is a daily dose, so I think that's got something to do with it.

Remember me telling you about my neighbor being such a good friend? Well, my dad gave her money to take me out for my birthday (since she didn't have any) but I think she spent it. She is sort of distant these days, and I know something isn't right, but I can't put my finger on it. My dog bit her as well when she tried (although I told her not to) to take something he was licking crumbs out of....So it could be that too. She comes over, checks her email, then leaves again....We talk during the time she is here, but I can't figure her out right now. Any ideas?
I am currently doing music therapy....I really like it. I have it tomorrow actually. Laura goes with me and I actually got her to sing our favorite song "Home" by Michael Buble.....She doesn't sing, so that was a victory...LOL Well, I need to get up early tomorrow for therapy so I am going to end now. Take care, everyone!

Hey Sly! My oldest girl is fourteen, and she's a brainiac. Besides dance, she's into sewing, reading, e-mails and the library. I've been teaching her to play chess, and she's really talented.

My other girl is ten, and she's a pure-gold sweetheart! She's one of those super sweet girls with beautiful copper hair, great looks, a wonderful personality and great manners. I got lucky on that one.

I also have a son who is seventeen. He's a lot like me, poor kid. He'll graduate this year, but he has no idea what he wants to do besides skateboard. He's really into that. He's a very good kid, but he has no sense of direction, which worries me some. I think it's great that you love teaching those teenagers!

Hey Kelly. Congrats on the journal. I hope you figure things out with your friend, 'cause you never want to lose one of those. How does that music therapy work? I've never heard of that before.

Everyone have a great day, and feel well!

Music therapy is great. For example, today I worked on writing a song to get the feelings out about my neighbor. I also used music (on the piano) to express the 2 main feelings I feel right now, which are confusion and hurt/anger. I found the Music Therapy Association's website, and it has a great FAQ section. Here is the link:http://www.musictherapy.org/faqs.html It explains it better than I could. Have a great day everyone!

My son is into playing music - drums and guitar. I played drums when I was in school, and he wants to teach me how to play guitar. He started giving me a few lessons just last week.

I like to write. Nothing serious, really, but just random fiction and a little lame poetry. I contributed a regular column for a small local newspaper for a while, a few years ago, but that wasn't really all that satisfying. I keep saying that some day I'm going to write a book, and I've started a few times, but the farthest along I ever got was about fifty pages.
