, My Psychiatrist has given up on medication therapy making me better and is strongly recommending ECT. I am scared to death and wondering how I would be able to continue living alone and caring for elderly cat. will I remember I have cat; be able to drive; be able to shower? I have no one to help me, and the psychiatrist's urgings grow stronger with every visit. Further, I cannot say that he is wrong. ECT might be the best thing that ever happened to my depression treatment. I just need more information, NOT FROM ARTICLES describing bipolar versus unipolar electrode hookups, but from real people who have undergone this treatment. Please Help. billie
