Exclamation UCTV lecture: Fructose and diabetes/obesity.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM

This is a LONG video explaining how obesity and diabetes happen.

The culprit is FRUCTOSE and how it is poorly metabolized and leads to serious health concerns.

GLUCOSE does NOT. The standard sucrose is 1/2 glucose and 1/2 fructose. So SUGAR and high fructose corn syrup, both are culprits. And so is alcohol.

Glucose digested from carbohydrates (that are NOT sucrose or fructose does NOT create these problems unless consumed in binge quantities.

It is a fascinating video. One factoid that is amazing is that clinics are seeing obese 6 month old infants. Where is this coming from? The formula they get! (and in low income households, WIC , a government program pays for it).

The formula has MORE sugar added than in COCA COLA (with sugar) ! This is shown near the end.

My thanks to olsen at PD forum for posting this over there!
