Default What's this? Diabetes diet helps but no dx

Just stopping in to see if any of this makes sense to ya'll on the Diabetes/Insulin Resistance board. I have all sorts of neuro-related problems, but no known cause. So....if I tell you the problems I have that seem to be diet-related, maybe you can share your wisdom. I'd certainly appreciate it!

15 ys ago, I first started noticing that I got shaky when I didn't eat. A doc said it was "reactive hypoglycemia". After having a baby, I was drop-dead tired, as in my brain was shutting off tired. (was also having ovarian cysts, which I read can also be related to insulin sensitivity) No thanks to doctors, I started noticing it was after eating carb-heavy meals. A diabetes counselor explained the diabetic diet. After going on my own version (small meals of complex carbs mixed with protein/fats), I felt TONS better and even lost weight.

FF 8 ys of being on that diet.....had lost 40 lbs, lighter than high school (to a sizish 6), and really aware of how awful I felt falling off the low-carb wagon. Eating cookies would make my brain shut down, definitely clear-cut. FF to now, some health crises later, and eating carb-heavy meals either makes my brain shut down OR I get this "post-prandial" heart racing. Cookies (er, last Tgiving...) even made me feel seizureish if I eat them late in the day (I have a seizure condition, but not like this before). I'm SO sensitive to sugar and carbs!

I've never been given a diabetes diagnosis, but I have a cluster of symptoms that I'm wondering if they are related to dysfunctional AVP/vasopressin. Low blood pressure maybe related to low salt/water retention. I increase water intake and it runs right through me. Symptoms of dehydration including 8 ys of abnormally high BUN and/or BUN/creatinine ratio. .

Anything sound familiar? Thank you for any and all thoughts!

There are other issues too beside diabetes:

1) fructose intolerance. 1 in 3 people have this.

2) Fructose metabolism is now thought to be "toxic"... please watch this video...it is long...but very very good:

3) If you have Candida in the bowel, from previous antibiotic use, then you can feel pretty terrible as the metabolic byproducts of the yeast flood your system with aldehydes. Using Thiamine B1 can help. Starving the Candida by avoidance of sugar and high glycemic carbs also helps.

4) the Diabetic diet you mention sounds similar to the Zone diet.
This balancing of good carbs, with good fats and protein, also has an anti-inflammatory effect in the body.
Dr. Barry Sears has written several books about this, and the first one is called Enter the Zone.

One may just have some insulin resistance issues. But these factors also occur in people who are not diabetic (yet).
