I just rec'd my latest lab results and my A1C was 5.3. my doctor said the goal is to keep it right around 6 and cut my metformin, again, to 500mg/day. back in october i was at 2000 mg/day along with 10 mg glyburide after i had been without my meds and dr due to loss of insurance. i think my A1C was 5.7 then, but it had skyrocketed to 8.9 during the summer due to being totally out of the meds and not controlling my diet.
just wondering if anyone else had been told to keep their A1C near 6, i thought the lower the better?
