hi all
im a new diabetic
for the past year and 5 months i have been battling
trying to controle my bloodsugar for a while it seems like it was working
then pop came the meters giving me a reality check when the meter read
300+ and i was by the doctor trying to get some medication for the flu that was giving me hell
i was looking for a story concering christophine and diabetes where i found
the page with this nice melody explaing about it.
we in the caribbean eat christophine like on a daily basis but i just wanted to know if i can just contineu using it maybe change the way to cook it depending on the recipe

ok making a long story short
just want to know if its ok to contineu cooking it or boiling it what ever the case may be
but i also like the idea of putting it in the juicer with celery and cucumber and what not

Hi ddreadi,

That plant in Australia is called a choko, they are bland but will take on the taste of anything they are cooked with. So a couple of spices will make them nice cinnamon is a good one to use as it's good for diabetes.

I don't know if you chop up the roots and candy them, but if you do that is something I would suggest you stop doing.

Let us know how you are doing with the diabetes,

sorry i took the whole year to answer you back
nope i dont use that wth candy
i just cooked it

by the way im still fighting with my diabetes
im wondering if i should use the insulin cause up till now i only use the insuling the first week but never did it again
im trying to see how long i can control it with out the insulin

If your meter readings are high, please use the insulin. If not keep trying
the diet. There are also pills for diabetics, thats what I use, and control
mine pretty good.
